Role Summary

The Crude Export Supervisor will oversee and coordinate all activities associated with crude oil exports—ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant export operations. This role involves supervision of operations, logistics, quality control, stakeholder interface (export buyers, regulatory bodies, port authorities), and ensuring adherence to health, safety, security & environmental (HSSE) standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise the export of crude oil shipments, ensuring loading, documentation, quality, scheduling, and delivery are correctly executed.
  • Work with production, terminal, pipeline, and shipping teams to schedule batches, allocate volumes, and manage export logistics.
  • Monitor and ensure crude quality parameters (e.g. API gravity, water & sediment, sulfur, etc.), sampling, testing and conformity to buyer specifications.
  • Coordinate with laboratories, measurement teams, and third-party inspectors to validate quality and quantity.
  • Ensure all export documentation (bills of lading, certificates of quality, customs & regulatory approvals, permits) are prepared, verified and managed correctly.
  • Interface with port and terminal operators, shipping agents, customs, regulatory agencies and third-party service providers.
  • Track vessel schedules, loading operations, ensure safe mooring, loading rates, and demurrage monitoring.
  • Supervise and maintain export infrastructure (pipelines, metering systems, loading arms, valves, pumps) in collaboration with operations and maintenance teams.
  • Manage contractors and service providers engaged in export operations.
  • Prepare and present daily, weekly, monthly performance and export reports (volumes, losses, variances etc.).
  • Identify and manage operational risks, propose mitigation plans, and ensure continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with HSSE policies, procedures, and standards across all export operations.
  • Investigate and manage incidents, spills, or deviations in export operations and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Support audits, internal & external inspections, and regulatory compliance related to export operations.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Petroleum / Chemical / Mechanical / Marine) or related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in crude quality control, metering, sampling, certification and export documentation.
  • Strong knowledge of export logistics (shipping, port operations, mooring, marine loading) and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven ability to lead, coordinate, and supervise cross-functional teams and contractors.
  • Excellent analytical, planning, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant industry software, Microsoft Office suite, data reporting tools.
  • Excellent knowledge of HSSE practices and regulatory standards in the oil & gas export industry.
